Veteran reliever Jason Motte is expected to come off the Braves’ 10-day disabled list Friday and join the team for its series opener against the Marlins at SunTrust Park.
Motte has been out with a strained back, which he injured warming up for an aborted relief appearance July 9 at Washington in the last game before the All-Star break.
He allowed three hits and no earned runs in three innings over three minor league rehab appearances in a five-day span through Wednesday, with no walks and two strikeouts.
“Everything felt good, everything checked out,” he said Thursday. “Wanted to check off a couple of boxes before they got me back, so we were able to do that. Be ready to go tomorrow. I feel good, ready to get back out there and help these guys any way I can.”
