The Atlanta Braves on Friday asked unconditional release waivers for second baseman Dan Uggla for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.

Uggla, 34, was in his fourth season with the Braves. He batted .162 (21-for-130) with two home runs and 10 RBI in 48 games this season.

The Braves will make a corresponding roster move prior to tonight’s game.
