The Braves’ scheduled game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday night was rained out and will be made up as traditional doubleheader Sunday.
The first game will begin at 1:10 p.m., and the second game is set to start about 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
The decision was made by Major League Baseball to play a doubleheader on the last day of the regular season, instead of simply playing one game and not making up Saturday’s game.
Saturday’s originally scheduled starting pitchers, the Braves’ Shelby Miller and Cardinals’ John Lackey, are now set to start the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader. The Braves’ Matt Wisler and Cardinals’ Lance Lynn, who had been originally scheduled to start Sunday, will start the second game of the doubleheader, which is also the Braves’ season finale.
The Cardinals won their division and will move on to the postseason.
Fans with tickets for Saturday’s game can exchange those tickets at the Braves ticket office Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tickets will be good for both games. Tickets not redeemed for Sunday’s games can be exchanged for any 2016 home game, subject to availability and excluding four dates: April 4, Sept. 30, Oct. 1-2.
Those who have tickets for Sunday’s originally scheduled 3 p.m. game can use them to attend both games beginning at 1 p.m. Turner Field gates will open at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
