Braves third-base prospect Austin Riley went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs for the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers in an 8-3 win over the Norfolk Tides on Thursday.
The Stripers improved to 68-67, putting them over .500 for the first time since a season-opening win and three games out of an International League wild-card spot.
Riley delivered an RBI single in the first inning, an RBI double in the third inning and a three-run home run in the seventh inning. It was Riley’s sixth home run in the past 12 games. He now has a nine-game hitting streak, during which he is batting .361 with four home runs and 13 RBIs.
Riley is a candidate for a September call-up with the Braves.
