The labor went extra innings, but Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea are proud parents of a baby boy.

Chelsea Freeman posted on Twitter and Instagram after the birth of Frederick Charles Freeman II Thursday night, writing "he is healthy and perfect!!"

But it wasn’t easy.

Chelsea Freeman’s Instagram post read: “24+ hours of active labor, epidural at 8-9cm dilated and 3 hours of intense pushing in every position possible and this little guy wouldn’t flip (he was sunny side up) or budge past my pelvic bones. Ended up in emergency c-section.”

She added: “So smitten by this guy."

There's no word yet on if he bats left-handed like his dad.
