CINCINNATI — The Braves activated third baseman Adonis Garcia and left-hander Eric O'Flaherty from the 10-day disabled list Friday. Garcia was in the lineup against the Reds, and manager Brian Snitker said O'Flaherty was available in the bullpen.

Garcia missed 15 games because of left Achilles tendinitis. He entered Friday hitting .237 with a .278 on-base percentage and .348 slugging percentage. Garcia played in five rehabilitation games at Triple-A Gwinnett and went 6-for-15 with three doubles.

“In my last game up here, my timing felt good even if the results weren’t there,” Garcia said through an interpreter. “I couldn’t get any hits necessarily, but my timing felt good. I went down there and felt like my timing still was on. Everything felt comfortable.”

O’Flaherty went to the DL because of a lower back strain that he said was exacerbated by running on the artificial turf at Toronto.

“It’s something I’ve dealt with my whole career,” O’Flaherty said.

Entering Friday O’Flaherty had compiled a 6.59 ERA in 18 appearances (13 2/3 innings) with nine strikeouts and six walks.
