Former Westlake High School star Cam Newton is back in uniform and on a football field for the first time since his NFL team, the Carolina Panthers, lost to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 on February 7.
Newton and his teammates are participating in organized team activities (OTAs) in Charlotte.
Contact is not permitted during these activities, but the team is allowed to conduct 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
Newton has spent part of the offseason preparing for his new TV series that will launch Friday on the Nickelodeon network.
He brought 10-year-old Rosie Smolowitz to the White House to interview Michelle Obama for the cable TV series "All in with Cam Newton."
The interview was conducted last week in the Rose Garden. Nickelodeon says the episode will air during the summer.
