In an HBO special airing Wednesday night, four former Auburn football players will say they received cash from boosters, according to the Sports by Brooks website.
One of them, Stanley McClover, will say that during his recruiting process he got $500 in a handshake from LSU, other money handshakes from Auburn and Michigan State, and sexual favors at Ohio State.
The website says it reviewed an advanced copy of the show, "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel."
Other former Tigers interviewed are Troy Reddick, who starred at Westover High in Albany, Chaz Ramsey and Raven Gray. All left Auburn by 2007.
Gray, who said he received $2,500 to $3,000 from an Auburn booster, told HBO's Andrea Kremer, "Loyalty is the key. This man give me money, I'm going to be loyal to him and go to Auburn."
McClover, a defensive lineman who spent three years in the NFL after playing at Auburn in 2004 and 2005, said he switched his commitment from Ohio State to Auburn after asking for money and getting it delivered in a bookbag.
"I literally almost passed out, I couldn't believe it was true," he told Kremer. "I felt like I owed them."
However, several former Tigers told AuburnSports.com that they don't believe McClover was paid. Junior Rosegreen called McClover "a storyteller" and "a damn liar."
Auburn officials told HBO they would not comment on "these alleged claims made by a few former football players" and stressed that "compliance with all NCAA and Southeastern Conference rules is a major emphasis and top priority for all of our athletic programs."
Ramsey, a guard, said he took more than $5,000 from boosters.
"I'm not out to get anybody," he told HBO. "I want high school athletes to know what they're getting into."
Just last month, a federal judge dismissed a suit Ramsey filed against a former Auburn trainer over Ramsey's career-ending back injury.
The HBO episode airs at 10 p.m.
