Atlanta United re-signed key midfielder Jeff Larentowicz. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

The 34-year-old was listed among a list of free agents released by the league Sunday after the team declined the option on his contract. That, however, the team could continue to exclusively negotiate with him before other teams could attempt to do so when free agency resumed at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Larentowicz signed with Atlanta United as a free agent in December 2016.

The midfielder/centerback appeared in 33 games, making 30 starts, in helping Atlanta United become the first MLS expansion team since Seattle in 2009 to make the playoffs.
