Atlanta United has surpassed 30,000 season tickets sold for its inaugural season in MLS.

The club announced the sales total Thursday. The amount extends what the team said is a record for an expansion team’s first season in MLS.

Atlanta United will open the regular season against New York Red Bulls on March 5 at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium.

The club has sold more than 40,000 tickets for that game.

Atlanta United will play Charleston on Saturday in its final exhibition game.

A few thousand season tickets remain on sale.
