Georgia guard JJ Frazier and Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner headline the Atlanta Tipoff Club winners of the 2017 Georgia College Basketball Players of the Year and Coaches of the Year.

Frazier and Mercer guard Kahlia Lawrence were named 2017 Georgia College Basketball Players of the Year.

Frazier was named to the first-team All-SEC team by SEC coaches after leading Georgia in scoring, assists, steal and minutes played for 2017. Lawrence — for the second year straight — was named the Southern Conference Player of the Year. The Mercer junior averaged 18.4 points per game this season.

Named John “Whack” Hyder Georgia College Coaches of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club were Columbus State coach Anita Howard and Tech’s Pastner.

Howard, in her first year as coach, finished 2017 with the Lady Cougars 31-2, matching Columbus State’s program record. Pastner and the Yellow Jackets reached the Final Four in the 2017 National Invitation Tournament in his first year with the Yellow Jackets.
