Second baseman Ozzie Albies remained out of the Braves’ starting lineup for the opener of a series at Colorado on Thursday night.

Albies was carried off the field in Tuesday’s game against the Dodgers after fouling a ball off his left knee. He didn’t play Wednesday in the finale of the series in Los Angeles.

As Albies went through workouts at Coors Field about two hours before game time Thursday, manager Brian Snitker said he “looked good” and possibly would play. But ultimately it was decided to keep him out of the lineup for another day.

Still, the Braves have been relieved by Albies’ progress. X-rays of the knee were negative.

“It’s a lot better than what I think we thought when we carried him off the field,” Snitker said.

Ehire Adrianza started at second base Thursday night, batting eighth. Eddie Rosario played left field and filled in for Albies at the leadoff spot in the batting order. Adam Duvall played center field, and Stephen Vogt started at catcher.

Albies leads the National League in extra-base hits with 63 and is tied for third in the league in RBIs with 86.
