Georgia fans might not know his name, but they remember what he did during the National Championship game.

Alabama linebacker Mekhi Brown was seen attempting to punch a Georgia player and then instigating a shouting match with an assistant coach that nearly turned physical on the sidelines during the College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 8.

Brown announced Monday evening on Twitter that he transferred from Alabama to Tennessee State.

A former 4-star recruit from Carver High School in Columbus, Ga., Brown is expected to attend classes at Tennessee State on Tuesday.

Because of his outburst during Alabama's National Championship win, The Tennessean reported Brown must meet certain stipulations before he can join the football team at Tennessee State. If he meets the stipulations, Brown could be eligible to play in the fall.

The 6-foot-5, 246 pound sophomore recorded seven tackles with the Crimson Tide this season.
