The Hawks announced Sunday that center Kristaps Porzingis will miss the next two weeks.

Porzingis has missed multiple games while dealing with a recent illness. The team announced that Porzingis’ absence is meant to make sure that he progresses toward a full recovery.

During his absence he will do limited basketball activities. The team said it will reevaluate him in two weeks, at which time his status will be updated.

The 30-year-old, who has missed six of the last seven games, was diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome — or POTS — earlier this year.

In 13 games, Porzingis has averaged 19.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, while shooting 36.4% from 3.

The Hawks have already navigated the long-term absence of guard Trae Young, who is expected to return to practice this week after suffering a knee sprain Oct. 29.
