A 22-year-old massage student killed in a bizarre crash at a spa in Arizona had just switched seats with another student, The Arizona Republic reported .
Police said a woman in her 80s confused the brake with the accelerator pedal and crashed into the classroom at Spa Pima in Gilbert, Ariz.
The student who was killed, Lacey Gruntorad, had asked to switch seats with the other student because she wanted the instructor to demonstrate massage therapy techniques on her, according to a police report. The other student was not seriously injured.
The elderly driver and her passenger were not physically injured but the driver was extremely distraught, police said. No criminal charges were filed because there was no finding that the accident was reckless, negligent or intentional.
