A 62-year-old woman died Sunday morning after having a medical emergency and crashing her car near West Forsyth High School.
Gloria M. Lawrence of Cumming was driving eastbound on Drew Road in south Forsyth County when she suffered a medical emergency and ran her car into a fence at 7:58 a.m., said Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Doug Rainwater.
Lawrence died at Northside Forsyth Hospital at about 9 a.m. Sunday, Rainwater said.
Rainwater could not say what medical problem caused the crash.
“The crash did not cause her death. It was the medical issue,” he said.
