An Arkansas woman accused of stabbing her sleeping husband with a butcher knife because he snored pleaded not guilty this week to a charge of first-degree attempted murder.

The woman's snoring husband, not surprisingly, has filed for divorce.

Doug Weiser, 43, said he and his wife had argued about his snoring and she had gone to sleep in another room. He woke up with his wife repeatedly stabbing him with a knife, he said. Weiser said the couple's two teenage sons helped him get the knife away from his wife. Weiser suffered three stab wounds, a punctured spleen and a lacerated liver, according to a local news report.

Dawn Weiser, 44, was jailed at the end of August on the attempted murder charge but was released on bond two days later.
