It wasn’t the kind of hot deal a woman looking to buy a used car was hoping for.
An unidentified woman was test driving a used car Friday from a Fairfield car lot on Symmes Road near Dixie Highway when a passerby stopped her and said flames were shooting out from the engine compartment.
Then the fire engulfed the engine compartment of the 2001 Buick Regal, said Neal Ressler, spokesman for the Fairfield Fire Department.
Fairfield fire crews were dispatched at 11:16 a.m.
Besides some minor smoke inhalation, the woman was not injured, Ressler said.
