Mike Owings, 42, was arrested and jailed after officials said he admitted throwing a hot brisket during a fight with another grill master at the Kentucky State BBQ Festival Sunday morning.
Officials said Owings was fighting over a cooker when he tossed the hot brisket and hit a woman who was working for Fire House BBQ when she was struck, police said.
Berry said she was hit in the right shoulder, neck and head. She was treated for her injuries at the scene.
Owings was charged with misdemeanor second-degree wanton endangerment.
