A woman avoiding an arrest warrant found a strange place to hide from police Thursday.
According to a statement from the Guthrie County Sheriff's Office in Guthrie Center, Iowa, Gabrielle Looper, 25, was arrested for having an outstanding arrest warrant for probation violation.
After forcing their way in with a search warrant, police said they found her hiding inside an oven in her house.
The oven was non-functioning and not plugged in.
"I've never seen anything like it," Guthrie County Sheriff's Deputy Kent Gries told KWQC. "She fit all the way in the oven."
Police said there were two ovens in the mobile home. One was used for cooking.
Gries said the oven Looper hid in had the bottom removed so that a person could completely fit inside.
Another man, Joseph Crawford, 32, was arrested for interference with official acts.
Police said Looper just gave birth three weeks ago.
Her daughter was turned over to her grandmother.
Deputies said after she was out the oven, she was taken into custody without incident.
