Wow. This kid is lucky, and very brave.
The Sun Times reports, "Josh Green, a University of Central Florida student was at Cocoa Beach last Thursday around 3pm when he said he felt something yank at his leg and then it bite him several times.
According to KnightNews, Green said 'I didn't realize it was a shark until I punched it, thinking it was someone messing with me and then felt the face.'
Green was able to get away from the shark and made his way to the shore where his group of friends were. He limped over to his friends and they took him to the nearest lifeguard.
Green said he didn't see the shark during the attack, but the lifeguard who observed his injuries said they are consistent with those inflicted by a Blacktip shark. Green was transported to a clinic where his wounds on his foot, ankle and calf were closed by 18 stitches. Green posted on Twitter on Sunday that he had returned to the beach to celebrate Mother's Day, despite his injuries. He did not mention if he would get back into the water anytime soon, though, the Sun Times reported.
