A cat up for adoption gained lots of fans when Monmouth County SPCA shared his photo Friday because of his uncanny resemblance to Star Wars actor Adam Driver.

The shelter described Corey as "an Oriental shorthair cat who is about  2 1/2 years old (with) the softest fur you'll ever feel."

But the Internet seemed to think that Corey more closely resembled Driver.

Mashable reported that one of the first observers of the resemblance was XoJane editor Marci Robin.

"Tell me this cat doesn't look like Adam Driver," Robin said in a tweet.

With all the social media buzz, things worked out well for Corey.

After a social media whirlwind, Corey the cat has been adopted," the shelter said in a Facebook post. "A woman saw his photo on Facebook and instantly fell in love. She drove all the way from Brooklyn to adopt. The power of social media is amazing and every share counts."
