It’s one of those stories that sounds like a bunch of hot air. A Georgia man was arrested last week for allegedly popping a balloon, according to a Virginia newspaper.
But this wasn't just any balloon. It was part of a balloon sculpture estimated to cost between $350 to $500, The Virginia Gazette reported.
A witness reported the Sept. 2 incident to Williamsburg police, who used surveillance footage from a nearby gas station to identify the alleged balloon assailant as Justin R. Bridges, 21, of Cumming, according to the report.
“I just popped that balloon! I just popped that (expletive)!” Bridges allegedly said, according to the witness.
Bridges was arrested about eight hours later and charged with destruction of property, a misdemeanor, police told the newspaper. He was found hiding in the bathroom of a nearby hotel.
