A flying saucer stolen from the UFO Museum in downtown Roswell, New Mexico, was recovered in pieces Wednesday, according to police.

The saucer is normally mounted to the front of the museum but was knocked down and damaged in storms over winter. It was temporarily being stored behind the museum, where thieves took notice.

On Saturday, a museum employee noticed the saucer had vanished, the Roswell Police Department said.

Authorities found what appeared to be the broken remnants of the saucer, which was made of fiberglass, metal and stainless steel, in a ditch west of town Wednesday afternoon.

Police released video Wednesday night of the theft. The video shows two men as they carry the model saucer between them while a third watches..

Police have not identified any suspects or motives in the case.
