A pot-bellied pig that showed up outside a Burger King in Somerset County Thursday caused quite a scene, according to state police.
Authorities said the pig trotted its way to the fast food restaurant’s door and initially wasn’t bothering anyone. However, the pig did try to bite one woman when she attempted to enter the establishment.
"He bit at my foot. There was no harm done or anything, so I don't hold anything against the pig or its owners cause obviously he was hungry,” the woman said.
The stubborn pig also blocked the drive-thru entrance for a brief period.
One customer reportedly gave the hungry pig an entire order of hashbrowns.
The pig escaped from a nearby farm, and no one knows why the pig headed to Burger King. Ironically, the restaurant's sign was promoting its Spicy Bacon Whopper sandwich.
State police said the pig’s owner arrived and took the pig away without anyone getting hurt.
KRMG reports that Burger King employees say it's not unusual to see escaped animals in the area.
