A driver could get a citation for backing a truck onto the beach and getting stuck on Monday.
And that's because there is a sign on the beach at 16th Avenue South that says “No driving on the beach” that the truck disregarded before getting stuck in the surf.
Water rushed around the truck as people tried to help get the truck out -- and snap a few photos. Onlookers said the truck was stuck there for about an hour.
“We're on 16th Street, we're about 100 yards south, and the truck was stuck in water three quarters of the way of the tires. Apparently, he was trying to take out a couple jet skis. It got stuck. And I guess the tide came up and before he knew it, he was in trouble,” said witness Steve Strawley.
Lifeguards said they went by to help but didn't have the equipment to pull the truck out. They said no one was hurt.
