They say it's not because there are more coyotes, but because more people are living among the coyotes.

Ronald Thacker has lived and worked along Highway 212 his whole life. He says near his home, he knows you need to keep your eyes and ears open for the wild animal.

"I've only seen, like, one.  But I've heard them many times,” Thacker said.

But he says he still can't believe what happened in the house right across the street.
