Van drives into building, causes gas leak in SW Atlanta

June 19, 2013

Three people sustained minor injuries when a van drove into a southwest Atlanta building Tuesday night, according to police.

The incident happened at a medical building in the 3600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, according to Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police. Address records show the building houses Southwest Atlanta Nephrology.

“The affected side of the building is not considered structurally sound at the moment,” Chafee said. “No one from inside the building was injured.”

The crash also caused a minor gas leak in the area, Chafee said.
