Clouds are expected to linger over metro Atlanta for the better part of the day on Tuesday, according to the latest forecast. But it won’t be gray for the entire day.

“We’ll be able to mix in a little bit of sunshine today at times,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

The morning is off to a relatively dry, comfortable start with temperatures falling in the upper 50s.

It’ll be warm despite the cloud cover, and temperatures will cap out about 74 degrees. By 8 a.m., temperatures will climb to about 60 degrees, and by noon they’ll approach 70 degrees.

Though most of the day will be dry, showers aren’t out of the question with a 30% chance of rain in the forecast. Pockets of rain are expected to pop up about 4 p.m. and stick around through the evening.

Tuesday’s rain will be light, but the same can’t be said for Wednesday, according to Monahan. By the middle of the work week, the chance of rain climbs up to 90%.

“It’s going to be wet. It’s going to be chilly through a lot of the day on Wednesday, especially on the southside,” Monahan said.

Cooler temperatures in the low 60s are expected.
