A woman involved in a collision in Forsyth County on Wednesday has died, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash that killed Jordan Banasiak occurred just after 7:40 p.m. on Buford Highway at the Ga. 400 North entrance ramp, Cpl. Doug Rainwater said Friday in a statement.

According to investigators, Vayid Dzhakhidov, 32, of Cumming, was driving a 2007 Honda Odyssey west on Buford Highway. His wife, 26-year-old Azru Mirbaeva, was in the front seat.

As Dzhakhidov approached the intersection with the Ga. 400 North entrance ramp, Banasiak turned left from eastbound Buford Highway in a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, Rainwater said. The vehicles collided.

Banasiak, 27, of Cumming, was taken to North Fulton Hospital. She was pronounced dead Thursday, Rainwater said.

Dzhakhidov and Mirbaeva were taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
