A Gwinnett County highway has reopened after a big rig crash led to minor injuries and an oil leak, Gwinnett officials said.

Multiple lanes of Ga. 316 East at Harbins Road were blocked about 5 a.m. Wednesday after the three-vehicle crash, Gwinnett fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said.

A hazmat crew responded to the scene to check the oil leak and the contents of the trailer, Rutledge said.

“The tractor-trailer was carrying a load of dry ice, which was emitting a slight vapor cloud, but did not pose a hazard,” he said.

One person was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center-Lawrenceville with minor to moderate injuries. Two others were evaluated and released at the scene, Rutledge said.

Authorities opened one lane of Ga. 316 by 6:30 a.m., and the highway reopened completely just before 8:30 a.m., Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

Officials have not said how much oil spilled on the highway or what caused the crash.
