Woman hit by car, killed on major Clayton County road ID’d

A woman who was hit by a car and killed Monday morning while walking along Tara Boulevard in Clayton County has been identified as a 28-year-old mother of three.
Channel 2 Action News reported that Karen Jones was struck as she tried to cross the busy street.

Southbound lanes of Tara Boulevard at Upper Riverdale Road were closed for more than two hours while authorities investigated, causing delays during the peak of the morning rush. The lanes reopened about 9:30 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
