SUNDAY’S WEATHER-TRAFFIC: Easter temps reach the 70s

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon has your forecast

After a wet Saturday and chilly Sunday morning, warm temperatures and sunshine have finally returned just in time for Easter egg hunts.

Right now, it is 70 degrees and sunny in Atlanta. Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said it’ll stay that way for the rest of the afternoon.

“For Easter Sunday we’ll have lots of sunshine, a shift in our wind direction and temperatures are going to warm up nicely,” Deon said.

Allergy sufferers will have little to worry about while they’re outside this afternoon, as the pollen count is in the “medium range.”  Sunday’s count is 25, with trees being the top pollen contributors.

The warmer spring weather should set the tone for the upcoming work week, where temperatures are expected to reach the low-80s through Wednesday.

Traffic shouldn’t be bad for the Easter commute. There are no major trouble spots or hangups, according to WSB 24-Hour Traffic Center.
