Police are investigating an accident that left a pedestrian dead in northeast Atlanta.

A woman was hit about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the corner of Piedmont Road and Morosgo Drive, Atlanta police Officer Donald Hannah said.

She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Police secured the scene and diverted traffic, Hannah said.
