A man died in a single-vehicle car crash in Clayton County on Thursday around 10:30 a.m. after veering off the road.
Clayton police said a 52-year-old man was traveling northbound on Jonesboro Road (Ga. 54) near O’Hara Drive when his vehicle veered across the southbound lanes, left the roadway and went down an embankment.
The driver was confirmed dead on the scene, police said. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The busy road temporarily was shut down between Battlecreek Road and Ga. 138 on following the fatal wreck.
