66-year-old woman hit by car, killed in DeKalb
Part of North Hairston Road was closed Thursday morning due to a deadly pedestrian accident.
A 66-year-old woman was hit and killed by a car Thursday morning in DeKalb County, police said.
She was identified Monday as June Tyler, according to DeKalb police.
Officers responded to North Hairston Road just north of Fellsridge Court, spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said in a statement.
They learned a Volvo was heading south on North Hairston south of Central Drive when the victim “darted out into the roadway,” Campbell said.
The man driving the Volvo was not able to avoid hitting the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
