The lead architect for the planned new Atlanta Falcons stadium, Kansas City-based 360 Architecture, has selected three Atlanta-based firms to partner in the design of the facility, the Falcons said Friday.

The three firms – Goode Van Slyke Architecture, Stanley Beaman & Sears and tvs design – “provide an attractive combination of skill sets, chemistry and capacity,” Bill Johnson, 360 Architecture senior principal, said in a statement. “Coupled with their knowledge of Atlanta, and the new stadium area in particular, we look forward to their many contributions to this project.”

The Falcons and 360 Architecture plan to present a conceptual design of the stadium to the Georgia World Congress Center Authority board for approval Tuesday. The conceptual design won’t necessarily reflect the final structure but is intended to provide direction for further design work, according to the Falcons. The next step will be a detailed schematic design. The Falcons expect to have a final design by April 2014.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
