2. UGA student killed in pedestrian accident. Bridget Thompson, 19, of Grayson, was struck by a vehicle early Friday after walking away from the scene of her single-car, wrong-way crash in Oconee County, the Georgia State Patrol said. [Read more.]
3. Georgia finds millions for more school nurses. The state Department of Education recently realized that Georgia schools have been short-changing themselves as much as $50 million annually in federal funding for school nurses. [Read more.]
4. 14-year-old arrested in high school threat. Authorities arrested a 14-year-old believed to be behind the shooting threat at North Paulding High School. Of the school's 2,312 students, only 102 showed up Friday, Paulding County School District spokeswoman Suzanne Wooley told The AJC. [Read more.]
