A trip to the Grand Canyon ended in heartbreak over the weekend. Park officials confirmed a Texas man fell to his death while visiting with his family.
"The National Park Service says around 8 a.m. that morning they got a report that a man fell off the rim of the canyon... He was identified as John N. Anderson." (Via KTVT)
Park rangers say Anderson fell nearly 350 feet Saturday morning. When rescuers found Anderson they performed CPR, but they couldn't resuscitate him. (Via U.S. National Park Service)
KXAS reports Anderson had been a State Farm Insurance agent since 1985. He owned his own agency in Bedford, Texas. In a statement from the company, a spokesperson said:
“John had a passion for life, his family and for serving the people of his community and beyond. He will be greatly missed.”

The National Park Service, along with the Coconino County medical examiner, is currently investigating the incident.
