More than three weeks after a Kenya native was found shot to death in his Sandy Springs apartment, police are working to identify a possible suspect.
Eric Chepkuto, 36, was found dead Dec. 28 inside his Circa 400 apartment in the 8100 block of Colquitt Road, according to Capt. Steve Rose with Sandy Springs police.
Chepkuto’s wife found him in the couple’s bedroom around 8 a.m. when she returned home from work, Rose said. Chepkuto had been shot in the head.
The homicide remains under investigation, but police have not yet identified any suspects.
“Detectives are still interviewing a number of people connected to the couple and awaiting results from forensics tests on evidence taken from the scene,” Rose said in an emailed statement.
According to Kenyan media reports, Chepkuto had lived in the Atlanta area since 1998 and planned to return to his native country later this year.
