Amazon subsidiary Ring is recalling 350,000 security units after some caught on fire.
The recall only applies to some of the second-generation Ring devices.
Ring received 85 incident reports of incorrect doorbell screws installed with 23 of those doorbells igniting, resulting in minor property damage, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
The company has also received eight reports of minor burns.
In an interview with ZDNet, a Ring spokesperson said they are working with the CPSC on getting the faulty devices removed from customers' doors.
“The safety of our customers is our top priority. We have and continue to work cooperatively with the CPSC on this issue, and have contacted customers who purchased a Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) to ensure they received the updated user manual and follow the device installation instructions. Customers do not need to return their devices," they said.
Ring has also posted a notice of the recall on Twitter.
