Reporter Charlo Greene made the announcement during the 10 p.m. newscast as she was discussing the issue as a news story.

"Everything you heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska," she said.

"And as for this job," Greene continued, "Well, not that I have a choice, but [expletive] it, I quit."

The cameras cut to a stunned news anchor who apologized for the outburst.

The station later apologized via Twitter.

Alaska voters will decide in November whether to legalize recreational marijuana.
