A U.S. Postal Service worker who resigned in early September dumped more than a dozen bins of mail on a New Jersey road, the Courier-Post reported.
The mail was found Sunday in Pennsauken Township in southern New Jersey, according to Scott Balfour of the Postal Service Office of Inspector General. It was dated for Aug. 8 delivery out of a post office in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia, the Courier-Post reported.
Special agents for the Office of Inspector General, who investigate suspected misconduct by postal workers, “determined the employee responsible for discarding the mail had resigned from the post office on Sept. 8,” Balfour said.
Balfour said the agents have not discovered why the mail was dumped in the south Jersey town.
"We have found no other mail relating to this incident," he told the Courier-Post. Balfour did not name the fired postal worker because he said no charges have been filed, the newspaper reported.
