Rapper Gucci Mane arrested…again

Gucci Mane was arrested early Saturday morning on weapons and drug charges after a friend called authorities concerned about the rapper’s behavior.

Officers with the Atlanta Police Department responded to the call in East Atlanta a little before 1 a.m. Saturday, where they found Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, walking near Moreland and East Confederate avenues. According to the police report, Davis became “increasingly agitated with officers and began cursing and threatening them.”

The officers arrested Davis, 33, and discovered he was carrying a handgun and small amount of marijuana, according to police. Davis was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital as a precaution and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, marijuana possession and related charges.

It’s the latest arrest for the troubled artist, who was indicted in April on an assault charge after he was accused of hitting a soldier in the head with a champagne bottle at Harlem Nights club in downtown Atlanta. He pleaded not guilty.

In 2005, Davis was charged with murder in DeKalb County after shooting a Macon rapper he said attacked him. The charges were later dropped.
