Luckily he was sitting down in his truck, or Powder Springs resident Garry Fain says he probably would have passed out .

The Cobb County man landed $350,000 playing a new Georgia Lottery instant game, Elegant Riches.

Fain, 61, a retired service technician, redeemed a free ticket at Jalaram Food Shop LLC, 4551 Brownsville Road in Powder Springs, for the Elegant Riches instant ticket.

He scratched off the ticket in his truck.

“I thought that I was about to pass out,” the lucky winner said.

Fain and wife, Cindy, have one adult child, two grandchildren and no definite plans yet for his winnings.

Fain claimed his prize Monday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
