According to Indiana State Police, 20 students were on board the Union-North United School Corporation bus when it was hit around 7:50 a.m. by a 2005 Ford Expedition. The bus had just made a stop to pick up students when it was hit, WXIN reported.

Four students -- including a 15-year-old girl, two 9-year-old boys and a 5-year-old girl -- were taken to area hospitals, the television station reported. The driver of the SUV, Lee Motz, 28, of Bourbon, was taken to a South Bend hospital, according to police.

Police said there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol being factors in the crash, WXIN reported.
