The body of a 67-year-old Cherokee County woman was found near her home, authorities said.

Mary Paulk was reported missing Monday night, Cherokee sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Tuesday.

She had not been seen since noon, Baker said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the home near Canton and searched the property, discovering her body and a golf cart on its side down an embankment behind the home, authorities said.

Investigators don’t suspect foul play at this time.
