A 20-year-old Decatur woman found Sunday along the banks of the Chattahoochee River did not die at that location, Roswell police said this afternoon. She was dropped off there.

Now authorities need your help finding acquaintances of Markeesha Taylor. Police believe those acquaintances can help investigators figure out what happened to Taylor.

“There were no obvious signs of what caused her death — gunshots or blunt trauma,” Roswell police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Holland told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Nothing indicating an immediate cause of death.”

Taylor’s body was found about 1:25 p.m. Sunday on federal land near Roswell Road and Riverside Drive, she said. It was the third body found in or near the Chattahoochee in a little more than a week. Because the body was on federal property, the FBI was handling the investigation, Holland said. Today, Roswell police took over the case.

Anyone who can assist police in the investigation is asked to call Det. Jeff Sanders at 770-640-4464.
