Two friends were injured in a double shooting Friday afternoon in southwest Atlanta, according to police.

The shootings happened around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Westmont and Richmond roads, according to Atlanta police.

“Investigators are still trying to figure out the motive, but the shooting stemmed from a previous dispute,” Sgt. Greg Lyon said in an emailed statement.

The two people shot, whose names were not released, were in stable condition Friday night, Lyon said.

The search continued for the suspect, police said.
