A pedestrian in Alpharetta was hit by a driver who took off from the scene Monday morning, officials said.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said in a tweet that the person was hit about 7:15 a.m. on Milton Avenue, near old Milton High School. The victim suffered a minor leg injury.

The driver went west on Milton Avenue, officials said.

Officers ultimately found the driver and arrested the person on unspecified charges. The suspect’s name has not been released.

Investigators are looking for witnesses.
